Freelance Lithuanian–English medical translator/editor

We are seeking to complement our team of translators. Interlex is looking for freelance Lithuanian–>English and/or English–>Lithuanian medical subject matter experts.

Duties

Translation of medical and pharmaceutical materials mainly from English to Lithuanian, or/also from Lithuanian to English. Use of CAT tools.

Required skills and knowledge

• Suitable vocational or higher education, or relevant experience in translation
• Excellent knowledge of the English and Lithuanian languages
• Ability to find information, organise the work appropriately, and manage work timetables well

Steps before co-operation begins

We ask you to perform a test translation/revision. This will help us assess your translation skills. If the results are suitable, we will agree with you on appropriate per-word and hour-based remuneration and enter into a contract.

Working hours

We send out job offers and confirmations of acceptance between 9am and 5pm on workdays. We expect you to be reachable by e-mail at these times. Also, deadlines fall within these hours.

Pay

The payment depends on your qualifications, work experience, and the test translation you have performed.

Freedom of choice

Our project managers send job offers daily, and it is up to you to decide whether you are capable of translating the text and willing to do so. We offer diverse translation jobs, with great variety: assignments of anywhere from 50 words to 100,000 words, ranging from user manuals to press releases. They cover the full spectrum of complexity and subject matter.

If you see yourself working as a translator in the future but some of the skills mentioned above need further refinement, we suggest that you go ahead and apply. We give highly driven applicants an opportunity to prove themselves, since we are interested in long-term collaboration and in mentoring young translators.
