Why translate? Every text, including translated text, serves a purpose. Whether its purpose is to boost sales, secure a reliable contract, improve customer service, or train your staff, a good translation improves communication. When you connect with clients, business partners, and others in their own language, everyone benefits.
Who will translate the material? Interlex is staffed by professional translators who know what they are doing. We have dedicated translation teams and services ready for every type of text and reason for translation. However complex or short and simple-seeming the text might be, it always requires thorough knowledge of the source and target languages, awareness of the context, expertise in the topic, and a genuine interest in what is being translated and the project’s goal.
How is the volume of work calculated? The calculation of text volume is based on the number of words in the original text. With this approach, the exact volume of the work is clear when you place the order with us. This forms the basis for preparing the budget. We always offer a discount for phrases that are repeated within the text.
Classic human translation, or full translation, involves two people working on a text - a translator and an editor. Technological aids - such as machine translation bases, ‘translation memory’ covering all translations that have been created for you, and term bases - may be used as aids to contribute to the speed of translation and consistency across all the material. However, the text is reviewed by at least two people to ensure the best quality and to fine-tune the wording of the final text. If the client wishes, machine aids can be omitted completely.
However, if the text is of a simpler nature, or if you have a more limited budget or a very tight deadline, we recommend that you choose validation of machine-translation output, also known as AI translation, where the machine translation base is reviewed by one person.
