AI validation, i.e. machine-translation post-editing

Machine-translation technology has evolved significantly in recent years, with the tools’ accuracy and fluency improving vastly. However, even the best computer-based translation systems are imperfect, and often they produce errors and ‘interesting’ sentence structures that require human attention. This is where a machine translation post-editing service comes into play.

Machine translation editing as a separate service is particularly suitable in situations where you have large volumes of content that need to be translated quickly, such as technical manuals, product descriptions, internal documents, correspondence, etc. To provide a quick and affordable translation service, we use machine-made translation, which our experienced translators check and improve if necessary. This lets us reach the required translation speed without sacrificing the quality of the text.

Interlex clients can also be assured of the quality of service by the ISO 18587 certificate for machine translation post-editing. We provide machine translation services in accordance with the ISO standard’s requirements. Therefore, Interlex clients can be assured of the quality of service.

What is machine-translation post-editing?

Editing of machine translations is the process of checking the accuracy of the work done by a computerised translation engine. This includes examining all of the machine-translated text and making both corrections and improvements (to linguistic fluency, clarity, etc.). The aim of the machine-translation post-editing service is to create a text that accurately reflects the content from the source language, corresponding as closely to it as possible. The main task of the translator is to verify the accuracy of the translation and make the necessary linguistic corrections.
